What happens at an Substance Abuse evaluation?

Image
When someone is suspected of having a substance abuse problem, they may be referred for a SAP Evaluation . This is a process where a clinician will assess the individual's substance abuse and any potential mental health disorders. The evaluation will help to determine if the individual has a substance abuse problem and, if so, what type of treatment is needed. Where can I find SAP for DOT ? There are a few different ways to find a Substance Abuse Program (SAP) for Department of Transportation (DOT) employees. The first place to start is the DOT website. You can use the search bar to look for "Substance Abuse Programs" or "DOT Substance Abuse Programs". This will bring up a list of all the DOT-certified Substance Abuse Programs in your area. You can also call the DOT toll-free number at 1-800-827-3982 and ask for a list of SAPs in your area.  Once you have a list of SAPs, you can start calling around to see which one is the best fit for you.
